Paying in foreign currency
The simplest route: each instalment of the payment schedule is wired from your foreign bank to the notary's escrow account or the developer's account, in euros or dollars, then converted into dirhams. The evidence of each transfer serves as the basis for the investment declaration to the Office des Changes.
The exchange rate applied is that of the Moroccan bank on the date of receipt. The dirham is pegged to a basket composed of 60% euro and 40% dollar, with a fluctuation band of plus or minus 5%, which limits volatility for a buyer in euros.
