On 21 October 2026 the government presented a 2030-2035 rail programme including the high-speed line to Agadir and the connection of Essaouira. A decree in September had already opened expropriations south of Marrakech: the project is moving from studies to land acquisition.
The government statement of 21 October 2026 opens a 2030-2035 rail investment cycle: extension of the high-speed line to Agadir, connection of Essaouira to the network and a new link towards Béni Mellal, continuing on from the 2024-2030 programme.
A decree published in the Official Bulletin of 7 September 2026 had already opened expropriation procedures for a Marrakech-Agadir high-speed line and on the Chichaoua-Essaouira section. The corridor south of Marrakech is thus moving on from the study stage to that of land acquisition.
The real-estate private equity firm AEDGE Partners announces, after five years of activity, around 3 billion dirhams of assets under management and ten projects in development in Morocco, including the Botanik Garden residential scheme in Marrakech.
